PRACTICE WITH ME ONLINE!

ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO BE ABLE TO PRACTICE YOGA WHENEVER

AND WHEREVER YOU WANT?

Do you take yoga classes here and there but find it hard to be constant and diligent in your practice?

I certainly do.

But sometimes we just don't have the time or energy to travel to attend classes and workshops.

Even if we have the time, they can be expensive and it can be difficult to find a suitable class in our area at the time of our choice and therefore maintain a regular yoga practice.

YOGA PRACTICE WITH ME

"YOGA CHITTA VRITTI NIRODHA"

Yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind.

MAHARISHI PATANJALI

The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit yuj, which means ‘yoke’ or ‘union’. Practicing the postures and breathing with awareness develops harmony, unifying the mind, body and spirit, and helping us to realize our nature.

DISCOVER YOGA STYLES THAT I TEACH DURING MY CLASSES:

VINYASA YOGA

Vinyasa (pronounced "vin-yah-sah") is a Sanskrit word for a phrase that roughly translates as "to place in a special way," referring—in hatha yoga—to a sequence of poses. Vinyasa classes are known for their fluid, movement-intensive practices. Vinyasa teachers sequence their classes to smoothly transition from pose to pose, with the intention of linking breath to movement, and often play music to keep things lively. The intensity of the practice is similar to Ashtanga, but no two vinyasa classes are the same. If you hate routine and love to test your physical limits, vinyasa may be just your ticket.

ASHTANGA VINYASA YOGA

It's a rigorous style of yoga that follows a specific sequence of postures and is similar to vinyasa yoga, as each style links every movement to a breath. The difference is that Ashtanga always performs the exact same poses in the exact same order. This is a sweaty, physically demanding practice.

YIN YOGA

This style of yoga targets the deep connective tissues and the fascia that covers the body by holding postures for 2-5 minutes or more. Poses are usually held on the ground with many props offered, including bolsters, blocks and blankets to find the support needed specific to each person.

In Yin Yoga, we come to an edge in a posture and become still. While we hold the pose, we go within. This is a place of stillness that offers the opportunity for letting go, being fully present, releasing stored tension from the body while calming the busy mind. Yin Yoga allows time for the practitioner to look inside, observe, feel the mind and body unwind and relax. Muscles remain passive in this practice.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

My classes (1 hour or 1.30 hour) focus on mindful body movement and the breath

In Vinyasa Flow, they include sun salutations, standing poses, balancing postures, seated, backbends, core isolation, strengthening, restorative poses and pranayama: a very complete cocktail to discover this dynamic style of yoga while remaining fully connected to his body, his abilities, his strengths and his limits.

Special emphasis is placed on moving into and out of postures safely, correct alignment, using the breath in a dynamic way. I love to combine creative sequences and a spirit of playfulness. Classes can also incorporate music.

You can expect my classes to be powerful and challenging yet gentle and compassionate with your body.

My classes are appropriate for beginners as well as those with an ongoing practice.

CASE  STUDIES

— POL

“I had an injured shoulder that has improved considerably over time, aided by Anne’s classes. She has always been aware of my shoulder, and told me when I should be especially careful during specific exercises.  Anne also ran a shoulder workshop which was very helpful even though I could not do all the exercises at the time. As the shoulder has improved I have been able to do more, and I believe these exercises help to strengthen my shoulder (and the other one, which hopefully will help me to avoid damaging that one too).”
