YOGA PRACTICE WITH ME

"YOGA CHITTA VRITTI NIRODHA"
Yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of the mind.
MAHARISHI PATANJALI
The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit yuj, which means ‘yoke’ or ‘union’. Practicing the postures and breathing with awareness develops harmony, unifying the mind, body and spirit, and helping us to realize our nature.
DISCOVER YOGA STYLES THAT I TEACH DURING MY CLASSES:
VINYASA YOGA
Vinyasa (pronounced "vin-yah-sah") is a Sanskrit word for a phrase that roughly translates as "to place in a special way," referring—in hatha yoga—to a sequence of poses. Vinyasa classes are known for their fluid, movement-intensive practices. Vinyasa teachers sequence their classes to smoothly transition from pose to pose, with the intention of linking breath to movement, and often play music to keep things lively. The intensity of the practice is similar to Ashtanga, but no two vinyasa classes are the same. If you hate routine and love to test your physical limits, vinyasa may be just your ticket.

ASHTANGA VINYASA YOGA
It's a rigorous style of yoga that follows a specific sequence of postures and is similar to vinyasa yoga, as each style links every movement to a breath. The difference is that Ashtanga always performs the exact same poses in the exact same order. This is a sweaty, physically demanding practice.
YIN YOGA
This style of yoga targets the deep connective tissues and the fascia that covers the body by holding postures for 2-5 minutes or more. Poses are usually held on the ground with many props offered, including bolsters, blocks and blankets to find the support needed specific to each person.
In Yin Yoga, we come to an edge in a posture and become still. While we hold the pose, we go within. This is a place of stillness that offers the opportunity for letting go, being fully present, releasing stored tension from the body while calming the busy mind. Yin Yoga allows time for the practitioner to look inside, observe, feel the mind and body unwind and relax. Muscles remain passive in this practice.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
My classes (1 hour or 1.30 hour) focus on mindful body movement and the breath.
In Vinyasa Flow, they include sun salutations, standing poses, balancing postures, seated, backbends, core isolation, strengthening, restorative poses and pranayama: a very complete cocktail to discover this dynamic style of yoga while remaining fully connected to his body, his abilities, his strengths and his limits.
Special emphasis is placed on moving into and out of postures safely, correct alignment, using the breath in a dynamic way. I love to combine creative sequences and a spirit of playfulness. Classes can also incorporate music.
You can expect my classes to be powerful and challenging yet gentle and compassionate with your body.
My classes are appropriate for beginners as well as those with an ongoing practice.
